            <description>We own a very successful mail order Vegetable Plant business based on the Cornwall/Devon border but currently rent our house and a nursery a mile away which causes us all sorts of logistical problems.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

It is a wonderful place to bring up children where they can just run off and roam and play freely without worry. Peace and tranquility abounds.  The local school is wonderful.... reminiscent of &quot;Waltons Mountain&quot;... where all the kids are taught together in the same class.... from the age of 5 to 11.... there are usually between 8 and 10 kids at any one time... it means they are tutored really well and learn really important values...... just a lovely start to life.

Interests in the area include fishing, hunting, sailing, golf, etc.  The area is mountainous and largely forested.  Galloway is beautiful and one of the forgotten corners of Scotland... we are surrounded by hills and mountains on all sides and wildlife abounds.. red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, badgers, buzzards, red kites, the occasional golden eagle... red squirrel, woodpeckers, kingfishers, otters... you name it... 
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
The property comes with a traditional stone built Galloway cottage with 3 bedrooms, new kitchen, new bathroom, pvc double glazing, oil fired central heating etc.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
The main house has some history and we believe it has been here in excess of 500 years.  Our documentation shows that the first recorded sale was in the year 1611.  On some maps, the property is seen as a village but it is because the estate has been here so long.  It was at some time known as &quot;The Twenty Shilling Lands of Bardennoch&quot;.  We also understand that the owners are entitled to be called &quot;Laird and Lady Bardennoch&quot;,  although we have never really explored this.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
In addition, we have a further 3 bedroomed cottage that is adjacent, and which is of a brick and cedar construction.  This is very pretty and ideal for extended family or for holiday letting.  It has all the usual facilities including gas central heating with new boiler, open log fire, bathroom with bath and new shower etc. It has it's own plot so can be made private if required.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
We have our own pure water supply from our own spring high up in the hills 3/4 mile above the house.  This is natural spring water and has no chemicals or additives.

Within the grounds we have a large workshop/store, a barn, numerous sheds and outbuildings, chicken houses etc.

There is an old stone byre (cowshed) that would lend itself to conversion into studio accomodation.  We have enquired in the past with the planning department who indicated that such an application would be favourably received.

There is a half acre trout pond stocked with brown and rainbow trout, the setting of which is spectacularly beautiful, being surrounded by trees and vegetation.

The land in it's entirety, is divided into about a dozen different areas, varying in size from a small paddock to large fields.  It has been used mainly for livestock and poultry.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
We are registered with Scottish Agriculture and have a holding number and stock herd numbers.  This can be handed over by a simple name change for anyone wishing to keep livestock.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
There are a number of ways in which income can be raised from the farm, including livestock, egg production, poultry, homegrown plants and vegetables, fishing on the pond, bed and breakfast, holiday lets, small caravan site potential etc.etc.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
The area is 26 miles north of Castle Douglas and 25 miles south of Ayr.  Prestwick airport is about 30 miles.  Glasgow is about 60 miles. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
We are obviously priced taking into account the current financial crisis..... in view of this, we will be looking for offers over £350,000.... you actually get a lot for your money in this forgotten corner of Scotland.
