| We are a Charity, The Beagle Welfare Scheme. It was set up in 1979 to give help and advice on beagle related problems and to assist with re-homing, via a nationwide network of over 20 area officers. For further info (www.beagleadvice.org.uk) On average, around 15 beagles require kennelling at any one time, whilst suitable owners are being found and vetted.To assist with the ever increasing costs of kennelling, the Trustee's of Beagle Welfare are now looking to rent maybe with a view to purchase in the future a 2-3 bedroom property with a small piece of land, say 1-3 acres, with some building/s that we could semi-permanently change into kennels.( Even if the property needed attention, we don't mind hard work. By acquiring our own kennels, we can keep all the hounds in one place, which we will hope greatly assist with re-homing. At the moment we kennel at different kennels around the country, which is proving unhelpful to prospective owners who have to travel to different locations to view the hounds. Please note that our kennel would not be open to the public and visiting would be by appointment only. We would have a manager living on the premises who is a Beagle Welfare Area Officer for Derbyshire, as well as having experience in the farming and equine community.
