| This is our 65 foot five bedroom stone barn conversion set in approximately 1 acre of land within the Brecon Beacon National Park. It is situated on a L.A maintained no through lane which services 7 properties and therefore provides a peaceful setting without the feeling of isolation. All of this is within a 30 min commute to Swansea or 50 min to Cardiff. The barn includes 5 double bedrooms, the master bedroom having a lovely open aspect of views across the lawns, woodland and countryside views. Our heritage green bathroom is a Jack and Jill giving en-suite access from the master or private access from 2 guest bedrooms. There is a further family bathroom to the first floor and a shower room downstairs. All of the bedrooms have full ceiling height as sometime in its history the barn has had additional brickwork in order to lift the roof height. This has also provided considerable attic storage space for all the things we never throw away (junk). Downstairs there is a centrally located country kitchen with integrated hob/oven plus a Belfast sink etc. At the other end there is a solid fuel Rayburn which allows for the strategic placing of easy chairs to take full advantage of the views via the French doors which open onto the patio. We have lost many hours sitting here watching the birds or enjoying the cosiness on a winters day. Off the kitchen is the first of two lounges, this we refer to as our summer lounge. It has a beamed ceiling and windows overlooking the front drive and rear landscaped gardens. Past the stairs and the Rayburn, in the kitchen, is the rear lobby with doors to a) utility/WC/boot room. b) Rear patio and garden c) The second lounge which we refer to as the snug, which has a solid fuel Parkray fire for winter evenings and a second stairway to two of the bedrooms. Having a toilet/utility with direct access from the outside space was a conscious decision to allow us to answer any calls of nature without concerns for muddy boots or clothing when enjoying the gardens and surrounding countryside. Externally there are a number of sheds/workshops some with power and light enough to keep any hobbyist content and occupied. There is also a secure poultry compound which presently houses ducks and chickens. Although having its own duck pond the ducks still make a b-line for the large wildlife pond when let out to roam the grounds. The grounds themselves are double height fenced to keep our dogs secure and are bordered by a stream and mature trees. Our reason for selling this idyllic property which provides a lifestyle we love is that 5 bedrooms for 2 people, 2 dogs and some ducks are excessive.
